Hi, my name is Karl. I'm a native English speaker, originally from the down under (New Zealand) and now living near the Dutch/German border near Arnhem in the Netherlands.
For almost 14 years I have been working with business clients in Germany and the Netherlands to improve their confidence and ability to use English as an effective business communication tool.

If you have a PC and a good network connection, we can start tomorrow. You don't have to be in the Netherlands, we can work together whether you are in Spain, Italy, Germany or Austria. I am your coach for 12-weeks to help you develop your business English. I will introduce you to my personal learning methodology of listen, learn, speak. You will have 24 hours of guaranteed one-to-one speaking time plus online learning tools. To help you with your vocabulary, I have included a 12-month subscription to Quizlet and I will guide on how to independently increase your vocabulary range.

Although I have a standard lesson format, I make sure that we dedicate time in each of our lessons to discuss your personal business English needs. Whether it be a presentation you have to prepare for, discussing an upcoming meeting or debriefing a client engagement. I want you talking about the practical things that are going to help you the most!

Because I am an independent and self-employed coach without the overheads of a training school and expensive premises, I am able to offer this 12-week course for eighteen hundred (1.800) euros, much better than the two-three thousand euros you would spend for one week at a training school, without the personal attention.
Creating a personal learning habit
Learning never stops. Although we are going to work together for
12-weeks, it is my objective to also make you an independent learner and
help create a learning habit. I want to help you change your habit
from a quick look up using Google Translate to making these new words a
permanent part of your everyday language. That change needs a bit of
help, and that is what I want to help you with.

Over the years I have developed a methodology to help my clients, listen, learn and speak. Listening is critical in mastering any second language. It goes without saying that learning is part of the package. I will support you with online learning tools to maximise your learning experience in the 12 weeks we are working together. But the most important step in improving your business English confidence is speaking and that is something we will do plenty of during the twelve weeks of your course.
LISTEN
Listening is a critical part of learning a second language. In your 12-week intensive course you will have a minimum of one dedicated audio listening exercise per week. These will cover a wide range of topics (mainly with a business focus) and each listening module will have a full transcript so you can listen and read. Every listening module will start with an introduction to some of the key words you will hear in the audio, aiding your learning process.
LEARN
Everyone hates homework, maybe it reminds us too much of our school days. However the time between lessons does require some learning time. I hope I have found a formula that works better than working with a old-fashioned coursebook. The online learning courses that I have created will focus on vocabulary and dealing with some of the common grammar errors that people make. And if you get stuck, I'm only an email away or we can discuss in our next lesson.
SPEAK
Nothing will boost your confidence and ability more than having the ability to speak. When we are working together online, this will be my main focus with you. One of my skills as a coach is getting you to talk, letting you talk in a safe and supportive environment. Making mistakes is part of the learning curve, but often at work you it can be embarrassing speaking in front of customers or colleagues. I'm here to help you to improve and I want to give you the confidence to handle these work-related situations.

How much does it cost?
The price of your 12-week online course is 1.800 Euro. There are two payment options. 1. Pay the full amount of E 1.800 in one amount. 2. Pay in three payments of E 600, the first amount being paid before you start and the second one after four weeks and the three in the following four weeks. All clients that pay the full amount will get two extra months of the "Listen-to-Learn" modules for free, and I mean free.
Is this course for beginners?
No, this is a course designed for business people who need to communicate effectively in English. You should a have a reasonable ability to communicate in English and you are looking for the opportunity to take things to the next level and improve your confidence. It helps if you are already using English at work, either to engage with customers our colleagues, etc. If you are a beginner, send me an email and maybe I can give you some tips on how to get started.
Will there be a lot of grammar?
Grammar is important, but in 12-weeks we have enough work to do and my main focus is to give you as much opportunity to talk as possible. What I have built into this course is a library of self-paced course modules to complete which focus on the most common grammar errors that learners make. Fixing these common grammar errors will help you to become more confident and sound more professional.
How does it all work?
This first thing to do is to contact (see the contact box below). I will email you back and we will setup a mutually convenient time for a Microsoft Teams call. During this call you will tell me your needs and requirements. It's an opportunity to see if there is a good synergy and you get to meet the person giving you the course. During this call we will discuss availability and suitable lesson times, etc. Each lesson is usually weekly and lasts for a maximum of two hours. If the feeling is good and you want to start, we just need to sort out the payment method.
